Zune Wireless Sync Error C00D07C9

Hi,

Even though my phone is configures and connects to my router for internet connection - I cannot configure wireless sync as I get the following error "C00D07C9"?

I have tried the FAQ but still nothing.

Please help.

Good call with this article!  I too had the same error with my Samsung Focus but I figured out that for some reason my route was not able to identify a device name, only the MAC address.  (possibly a bug in WP7)  Apparently Zune does not like this because as soon as I used a static IP address for my phone's MAC address and gave it the name of my phone as recognized by Zune, it worked!

Are you still receiving the same error message?

Have you tried to configure the device manually?

There’re some important recommendations that you must be aware:

Make sure that the access point or the router to which you connect is a DHCP server (make sure that DHCP is turned on).

Try to reserve an IP address for the Zune device on the router.

If you are using two routers, make sure that the router to which you try to connect is the DHCP server.

    HTC HD7, Windows 7 on the desktop, and a Billion 7800 router.

    It would seem Athix is 100% spot on with this.  The router hadn't recognised the device name on the DHCP table, it was blank - so after assigning it a fixed host entry with device name (as listed in Zune) an IP (that is outside the range DHCP provides) and the phone's MAC address it worked a treat!

    Hardly a user friendly setup process - now lets just hope they hurry up and fix the bug that periodically causes Marketplace and Zune (on the handset) to refuse to launch until reboot....

    Lovely mobile OS - as with all tech in it's infancy bugs are to be expected I guess, but come on M$..... sort it out or face getting a binary kicking by Apple...... and that sucks.

    Best tip so far, thanks athix.

    I did not set any static ip address, but i had a closer look at my phone name.

    It was "mozart phone". >> Behold the whitespace...

    After changing the name to "wp7", the wireless sync works...

    Does Microsoft test there software? And why the hack is syncing limited to one wireless network? I like to sync my phone at home and at the office...

    But i still hope harder that the software gets better....
