Good call with this article!  I too had the same error with my Samsung Focus but I figured out that for some reason my route was not able to identify a device name, only the MAC address.  (possibly a bug in WP7)  Apparently Zune does not like this because as soon as I used a static IP address for my phone's MAC address and gave it the name of my phone as recognized by Zune, it worked!

Cheers!

Hi TrevorScarlett

Are you still receiving the same error message?

Have you tried to configure the device manually?

There’re some important recommendations that you must be aware:

Make sure that the access point or the router to which you connect is a DHCP server (make sure that DHCP is turned on).

Try to reserve an IP address for the Zune device on the router.

If you are using two routers, make sure that the router to which you try to connect is the DHCP server.

you guys are my hero - two days trying to fix this with the same problems.

Changing the name of my phone to remove the spaces fixed the problem!

    THIS PROBLEM DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!

Windows installed half year ago. Phone set up, sync over wireless working perfectly. Last Monday Calendar on my phone erased itself. Had to do hard reset then. From this time on I get C00D07C9 error.

Tried http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952304, tried turning off firewall, tried reinstalling Zune and the problem is still there. Nothing in router or Windows 7 configuration has changed over the last week so I don’t get why this time I have a problem.

    Some info:

    Phone: HTC HD7 (Tango)

    System: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Firewall: Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 (problem exists even if I turn KIS protection off)

Wireless set as home network, computer is not a member of Home Group, DHCP obviously on.

    HELP!

    UPDATE:

    1. I tried to connect my phone to two other laptops (same network as in the case of original problem). Message in Zune is exactly the same.
    2. I tried to connect also HTC Mozart, again in the same wireless network. Again, without success.

So either it is a problem with network (but I didn't change anything for last year!) or Tang update.

    UPDATE 2:

I tried to reboot my system to restore default setting. Problem stil exist. As the same router worked perfecty (i.e. with wireless sync) for last 18 months it leaves me with strong feeleing that it must be some bug in Tango update.
