Zune Wireless Sync Error C00D07C9

Hi,

Even though my phone is configures and connects to my router for internet connection - I cannot configure wireless sync as I get the following error "C00D07C9"?

I have tried the FAQ but still nothing.

Please help.

Good call with this article!  I too had the same error with my Samsung Focus but I figured out that for some reason my route was not able to identify a device name, only the MAC address.  (possibly a bug in WP7)  Apparently Zune does not like this because as soon as I used a static IP address for my phone's MAC address and gave it the name of my phone as recognized by Zune, it worked!

Are you still receiving the same error message?

Have you tried to configure the device manually?

There’re some important recommendations that you must be aware:

Make sure that the access point or the router to which you connect is a DHCP server (make sure that DHCP is turned on).

Try to reserve an IP address for the Zune device on the router.

If you are using two routers, make sure that the router to which you try to connect is the DHCP server.

    Hey,

    I had the same problem. What I did that worked for me is changing the wireless profile in my laptop. I had my laptop configured to "PUBLIC NETWORK" and received the same error message, but once I changed this to "HOME NETWORK" everything work perfectly.

    To do this open the "NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER" by clicking on the network icon by the clock. Under the section "View your active networks" you'll see your network name and under it your connection profile "Home/Office/Public Network"; click on it and it will give you the 3 options to change your profile. Select Home or Office and try again to configure your Wireless Settings in Zune.

    I can also confirm that the PC with the Zune software has to be connected to the router via WiFi and NOT Ethernet to work. I have tried all other steps and this is the only one I got to work.

    However this is not a Microsoft issue. Some routers have problems passing certain types of traffic between the wireless and the wired interfaces. I have a CISCO EPC2425, supplied from my ISP; UPC Ireland. This is a known issue on this router. This is also why I cannot stream media from my (wired) NAS device to my (wireless) Xbox 360.

    This solution is not for everyone - just people who's routers fall into the same category (awful) as mine.
