Windows Update Failure Error Code 9C48 Unable to Fix.

I've cleaned the registry, retried update, rebooted, and still no luck. Any clue as to what this error code refers to ? My current version of IE is now dysfunctional too!

OK here is a solution (that worked for me):

a. Install IE9 from: http://internet-explorer.uk.msn.com/

b. Reboot

c. Uninstall IE9 (From: Control Pannel > Programs > Programs and Features > Installed Updates > Windows Internet Explorer 9)

d. Reboot

e. Run windows update and install IE9 (Now it will work).

f. Reboot.

    we can fix this by doing repair installation. but i don't prefer that. Afzal Taherdo we have any uninstaller for IE9/IE8.???

    ok how do we do a repair installation, I can't even access the uninstaller and I have tried the Fix It software. Is there another file that can repair ie9 in this case?
