network error 0x80070035 the network path was not found

I have network problem with Win7 pro. When I click on my network folder links for my local network I geterror 0x80070035 the network path was not found.

The network has been set up for 4 months it includes 3 PC's, up until now the only problems have been minor, such as links disappearing from network, which a system restart has been needed to refresh the network and that worked.

The other 2 PC's can see and access each other and see and access the troubled Win7 Pro PC, but the troubled Win7 Pro PC can't even get to its own network folders without theerror 0x80070035 the network path was not found popping up.

After hours of checking I have found no resolution, however as I restored the PC several times, occasionally the service would reappear for awhile.

In my search for possible causes I have opened Device Manager  with the show hidden devices selected, under Network adapters and found189 instances of Microsoft 6to4 Adapter.

I only have 3 PC's networked! Does anyone know if this is a normal number for Win7 or have I found part of an anomaly.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for your input.

In searching for a solution to my Win7 Pro network problem I have been over all of the settings you mentioned before I posted my question and found no problem , everything is as required to have a complete network and the network was fine other than the occasional missing links I described in my original post. The only addition to the PC configuration since the network was originally set up was automatic updates by MS update.

The good news is that as I have researched this to the max, I found 2 posts in the Win7 network forum that combined provided the fix for my network problem.

As I have been researching this I have noticed many people are having similar network issues. I know there are many reasons for connectivity issues, so the solutions are specific to the problems, but if other network users are experiencing the problem of multiple instances of Microsoft 6to4 Adapter and local network error 0x80070035 the network path was not found the solution I located has worked for me.

    Hi...I had no problem with my wireless Brother printer MFC-J615W for a year or so. Starting a few days ago my Windows 7 can't find it any more. It copies, prints, receives FAX, but Windows can't locate it.

    I've tried all sorts of troubleshoot options to no avail, and am at a loss as to what to do next. Any ideas?

    One thing not in my favor...I'm an old guy, soon 70, on a steep learning curve most probably for the rest of my computer daze.

    How to fix Windows 7 Error Code 0x80070035 "Network path not found." and send message over network using MSG command:

    In order to send message over network using MSG command, you must be able to connect to all computers in your network but when you try to connect to each other computer  Windows 7 report: Error Code 0x80070035 "Network path not found."

    You may need to do this first for all computers in your network:

    -          START – type in regedit  –HKEY_LOCAL-MACHINE – SYSTEM – CuurentControlSet – Control -Click on Terminal Server, double click on AllowRemoteRPC on the right panel and change Value data 0 to 1 (select base Hexadecimal)

    -          Restart all your computers.

    Here is the fix Windows 7 Error Code 0x80070035 "Network path not found" : The problem is TCP/IPv6. (work around TCP/IPv6 only)

    1-      Setting HomeGroup (assume you already have Homegroup for Windows 7 machines W7M), all W7Ms must join Homegroup and must have at least 1 shared folder.

    2-      From W7M ( windows 7 machine) try to connect the other : uncheck TCP/ IPv6

     ( Control Panel – Network and Sharing Center-Change adapter settings- Right Click Local Area Connection ( if you are using wired connection, otherwise Right Click on Wireless connection), choose Property and uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)

    3-      Click OK and exit control panel.

    4-      Now you can connect to the computer in network.

    5-      Go back to IPv6, check mark again.

    6-      Do the same for all computers in your network

    Here is the fix for error 5 sessions name when sending MSG over network: The problem is Map Network Drive (work around Map Network Drive only)

    -          if you already have Map Network Drive in your computer, disconnect the Map Network Drive and Reconnect Map Network Drive again with user name and password.

    -          Using MSG command with the format:

    MSG username /SERVER: computername  message here

     Or

    MSG * /SERVER: computername message here.

    No need to disable Windows Firewall, Antivirus software

    I have the same problem, and ONLY one "MICROSOFT 6to4 ADAPTER" when I look at the hidden devices in network adapters. So, this is not a solution for me. I am really angry. It is so difficult to have my desktop and laptop to communicate: both Win 7 Pro. Sometimes they do, and I cannot really understand why 7 times out of 10 I get "error code 0x80070035 network path was not found" whereas 3 times out of 10 everything works!
