KB2538242 visual c++ redistributable update on june 2011 keeps trying to install

During the june 2011 update, i have already downloaded the KB 2538242 visual c++ redistributable update but after restart, I still keep on having the same update when I checked. I downloaded it the second time around then restarted then checked for updates again, it is still there. Is this necessary? Why do I keep on getting the update? Do I need to download a lot of KB2538242 update? or is there something wrong with my system? or is it a form of virus?

    For me, the problem was that I have Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit version.  Everytime it only updated KB2538242 64-bit version.  I also have the 32-bit version installed because of some program I installed but the automatic updates DID NOT update the 32-bit version.

    So I went to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347 and downloaded and ran the installer for the 32-bit version and the problem was solved.

    I recall this happened to me with a different update a few years ago as well.

    mine keeps installing, ask ms to fix they said will fix for 99.00
