During the june 2011 update, i have already downloaded the KB 2538242 visual c++ redistributable update but after restart, I still keep on having the same update when I checked. I downloaded it the second time around then restarted then checked for updates again, it is still there. Is this necessary? Why do I keep on getting the update? Do I need to download a lot of KB2538242 update? or is there something wrong with my system? or is it a form of virus?

FOUR!!! And now the Windows Update wants to install it again for the FIFTH time!!

The thread is old for one reason: MS has done nothing about this problem in 3 years. People just give up talking to a brick wall and plod along.
