Thank you, exactly my point. If Microsoft had made a registry maintenance utility that checks the validity of the way the registry is used, and removes all incorrect junk, than those software makers would very soon have learned how to use the registry properly.
What is the BEST Registry Cleaner for Win 7 Ultimate or Pro 64 Bit version OS ?
What is the BEST Registry Cleaner for Win 7 Ultimate or Pro 64 Bit version OS ?
When I search the internet with that same Question ,, i get hundreds of links and every company says it has the 100% BEST Registry Cleaner software and i bet 99% are liars !!

I assume there are rules on how to use the registry. It is not about the actual data, but about how it is written to the registry.

2014-11-09T18:50:30+00:00 It is not about what is going on in the computer. The registry is a kind of configuration file, and in the more then 40 years I have been working with computers, I have always taken care that my configuration files were free of junk and well organized. It greatly reduced problems I can assure you, because if you feed a computer junk it will produce junk. The famous junk-in junk-out principle.
It may well be that third party software producers do things with the registry that were never anticipated by Microsoft, and are essentially wrong. But the again, had Microsoft build a registry maintenance utility, this wrong use had been discovered.

This could be done if the operating system was locked down by the o/s maker and only o/s maker approved programs could be installed.
