What is the BEST Registry Cleaner for Win 7 Ultimate or Pro 64 Bit version OS ?

Two fallacies - orphaned registry entries have little or no effect on performance, and secondly, having orphaned registry entries have never ever caused me any problems - in fact I've never used one at all in 25 years of using Windows.

I'm afraid your assertions are a) wrong and b) in inexperienced hands down right dangerous.

Yes, that's often true. But it doesn't matter. Having extra unused
registry entries doesn't hurt you.

Also, failure to use a registry cleaner will result in many Windows problems persisting, even after you reinstall software - take just about any of the thousands of issues that people had when they tried to upgrade from MSOffice 2007 to MSOffice 2010 for example. 

I completely disagree. That hasn't been my experience, and it hasn't
been the experience of dozens of other people I know.

Here's my standard message on the subject:

Registry cleaning programs are all snake oil. Cleaning of the
registry isn't needed and is dangerous. Leave the registry alone and
don't use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and
what vendors of registry cleaning software try to convince you of,
having unused registry entries doesn't really hurt you.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner erroneously
removing an entry you need is far greater than any potential benefit
it may have.

Let me point out that neither I nor anyone else who warns against the
use of registry cleaners has ever said that they always cause
problems. If they always caused problems, they would disappear from
the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
cleaner and never had a problem with it.

Rather, the problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
the substantial risk of having a problem. And since there is no
benefit to using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
bargain.

I recommend uninstalling software using Revo Uninstaller, then using CCleaner and the CCleaner Registry cleaner.

Two additional points:

1. CCleaner is an excellent program, as long as you don't use its
   registry cleaning functionality.
2. Even though my advice is not to do it, if you feel you must use a
   registry cleaner, it's safer to use CCleaner's than almost any of the

My view about maintaining windows OS fit is contined in a freeware tool named CCleaner. There are many reasons to use this tool. The best reason is this cleaner fix invalid registry codecs and drivers.

My personal choice is to run:    sfc /scannow

This is verifying and restore damaged or missing OS files. (OS = operating system)

After I am sure all files are there and vaild signed I use sometime %windir%\system32\cleanmgr.exe

tihis is "Disk Cleanup"

Last spet is to use CCleaner safely.
