Why do you want to know?
You could start with Why you keep posting, you obviously don't even know how to read the question.
you are embarrassing yourself.
Chuck Cook, you are so right. and thanks for your effort and answer.
Yes web forums are full of cocky and condescending people whose answers are anything but helpful as well as those that arehelpful but nevertheless still cocky and condescending.
I've also seen quite a few ungrateful help seekers demanding more than answers to their questions.
Its as if they expect you to virtually put your hands in their pc and fix them. They post their questions, get perfectly decent, helpful answers - but don't understand them for what ever reasons. And then they turn on the person trying
to help by whining that the answer isn't helpful or its not an answer.
Then there's the ones who misinterpret comments which is understandable in some circumstances but some go way beyond what's normal. Which usually leads to the "monkey see, monkey do" types jumping on the bandwagon making derogatory
comments intending to further demoralize whoever the target is.
Such is the case here. Because if you read Dax's answer he states exactly what the runtime plug-in is, what its used for and how to get rid of it. If you go to the links he provided and read those pages you will find a more in depth
explanation as well. Honestly, I don't get how anyone could've missed that. It was very clear and concise. Cook's answer, which is a good answer, albeit more technical - is laced with a condescending tone that is offensive to all who have answered this question
previously. So its surprising to me that somr posters are kind of worshipy over him. I guess people like that kind of haughty mentality. And even more surprising is Dax is the one who gets blamed for being rude simply because he asked a question to the guy who
not only wasn't the OP but CLEARLY was trolling. That guy copy/pasted the OP's question then changed some of it. The OP's question was - "what is the Java TM plug in SSV helper? do I need it and if not how do I get rid of it?" Dax answered
all of those questions. and here's what the troll posted.
"The answer does not answer:
"What is the Jave TM Plug in SSV Helper?"
So, it's part of Java; what is it?
"Do I need it?"
Well, do I? What for?"
Does that really sound like he****wanted an answer to you? When someone prefaces their question with an accusation
" The answer is not an answer " and also says
"Well do I"? before they've given you a chance to answer they're clearly being sarcastic. When Dax answered "Why do you want to know?" That wasn't rude or snide or anything that many of you wrongly accused him of. He was asking because he was
perplexed by the obvious rudeness of the guy (again not the OP) re-asking the
already answered question in such a nasty/demanding way.
you and others here keep asking why he kept posting. Well didn't you see the other questions by other people specifically directed at Dax? Did you go to the links he provided in his answers? It doesn't appear that you did because if you had then you wouldn't be
asking why.
SERIOUSLY? How is it that he's the one who doesn't know how to read a question when
you are the one that completely missed all those other questions? Why couldn't you see them? Are you blind? No not blind...... LAZY is more like it because you didn't bother to make sure that you were right. You didn't bother to make sure you
knew what you were talking about before jumping on the monkey see, monkey do bandwagon. Talk about embarrassing yourself...
