extremely slow reboot

Earlier in the winter I spoke with McAfee before my subscription expired and they told me that no matter what I did that McAfee would run with its definitions up to the last update.  They told me that if I uninstalled McAfee and then used the CD to reinstall it without an active subscription I would be using very outdated definitions.  I have had one virus issue by downloading a bug from the aol email that mcafee can not block if I accept the download.  This was removed with malwarebytes.  Other than this I have had no malware issues.  In the past week I ran microsoft malicious removal, kapersky, malwarebytes, and today I ran microsoft safety scanner.  All scans report no malware.

I have not yet decided whether to uninstall mcafee.  This new program let me prevent mcafee from being part of the boot.  No program prior to this had allowed this to be done.

The most recent boot time has been reduced wit the soluto from 8:25 to 7:14 to 5:02

I will continue to lern how to tweak the soluto to see what can be done to reduce the boot time.

I would like to turn off windows update.  What are the steps to turn off windows update.  By turning off windows update it will reduce the boot time by 21 sec.

On my computer I have only one antivirus program.  It is McAfee antivirus plus.  I have not renewed the subscription and it currently runs with old updates...

How long ago did your subscription expire?

The boot time with saluto changed from 8:25 to 7:14 after moving all of those listed in green above to disabled and moving some in the possibly remove in red to disabled.

I changed items listed for the boot tod decrease time.

It was 7:14 and I moved from boot to pause McAfee Antivirus Plus which was listed as 76 sec

I moved Indexing service from boot to pause as 18 sec

and I moved mfevtps.exe from boot to pause as 8 sec which is part of McAfee

This indicated that my boot time would be reduced to 5:33

There were 35 items for the boot and most are windows related.

The only other items that are 20 seconds or more are:

system 88 sec

svhost fet svcs 53 sec

win explorer 37 sec

soluto 24 sec

ms csrp 23 sec

win update 21 sec

win NT logon 20 sec

with the use of this saluto program it adds 24 sec to the boot

So I have go the boot down to 5:33 per the changes.  I now will reboot and see how long it takes.

5:33 still seems like a long time for a boot.

It took me over 11 minutes where I could open Mozilla Firefox with the 7:14 boot

What next?

I downloaded and installed soluto from the company web site.

The post that it had was the boot done 8:25

I used a stop watch and had this experience:

windows is shutting down with a blue scren

black screen

dell on screen

windows xp with scrolling blue boxes

1:49 black screen

2:41 blue windows is starting up

2:55 welcome with a blue screen

4:20 scratchy/choppy windows sound

4:51 bottom bar appears but no start box and no time or weekday or date in the right corner

6:23 mouse switches from arrow to timer when hovered over start button or bottom bar

8:35 mouse switches to arrow with timer

8:58 mouse becomes arrow only

9:07 mouse becomes arrow with timer

9:14 mouse become arrow only

this mouse changes back and forth from arrow only to arrow and timer or timer only

10:53 yellow shield appears in the right corner with updates are ready for your computer click here to download this update

17 I had clicked on soluto and it waited and it took 17 min for it to open with loading and when it opened it had new applications discovered idntifying using pc genome.  this may take a couple of minutes

I have not yet read how to use soluto
