Want to search ONLY file names in Windows 7 Explorer?

I usually just want to seach for a "word in a file & folder name" -- and often can give a a date range. In Windows 7 Explorer, as soon as I type the word, I get all files that contain the word in the content, as well. How can I have it search only the file or folder name?

I also don't use "my documents" or "Libraries"...I create my own subfolders -- and generally on a stick drive...so I don't really understand "indexing" or if it's relevant to how I organize my files.

No need for anything complicated. Just type what you're looking for. If it's in the filename, those results will be returned first, above any results where your search term isinside the file. Easy.

Non-indexed locations such as stick drives can still be searched, but take a little more time to search (sort of like XP).

Not really useful.

It that would be it, no one would search answer for this question.

For one - if there is too much of corresponding results among files - what would you do? tens of thousands results? only to display them is bother, scroll them.. so on.

Okay somewhere on this thread is the answer but I still don't like it but I use it. You have to type in name: then what you're searching for or date:, or type:. otherwise it will provide you with a long list of all kinds of things you don't want. if you typed the word expenses it will show you everything that has the word expense in it. Totally annoying. The search default should be name:whatever. XP was way better at this and more convenient good luck. Have not tried Windows 8 I hope they have fixed this. Only a computer geek could like the way it is now in Windows 7.

Wow! I passed right over the correct answer on the first page of this thread (by TrekDozer) and ended up going through all four pages of postings. What through me off was the post that followed TrekDozer's. Since it was from a Microsoft MVP, and said something different from TrekDozer, I figured the first (correct, as it turned out) response should be ignored. For the benefit of others like myself, searching for an answer to how to find file names only, it would be helpful if this thread ended after the correct answer was given. Nothing after that is relevant to the question that was asked.
