I deleted an empty storage folder in my windows live mail and somehow all the storage folders around it disappeared! I looked in the deleted items folder and they were not there.  I really need help. Please, does someone have advice or recommendations??

I had the same problem after an update from Windows.  I went to C:\Users\usernamexxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail and noticed that the folders missing from my Live Mail were there and searched for a way to return them.  No luck.... BUT... I went to WLM and clicked on VIEW then COMPACT VIEW (collapses all the folders listed and a green plus sign appears under them.)  Click on the green plus and ALL folders even those missing from the list show up in the dialogue box.  Put a checkmark beside all the folders you want and click OK.  Now, when you click on Compact View once more all the folders should appear....They did for me.

I had the same thing happen and it took me a long time to find the missing files.  When I tried to "move file", my missing storage folders showed up under a recovery folder.  I had checked the recovery folder earlier and they were not there.  They only showed up after I tried to do a "move file".  Many of the names of the files under the recovery folder ended in strange numbers and letters so I just corrected them using rename.  Then I moved the folders up under the normal Storage Folders, where they used to be.  All is back to normal now.

Had the same this morning. My inbox storage folder had disappeared but other storage folders were still there. but I could see them in file manager - ie C:\Users\usernamexxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail.

I opened "move-to" in Windows Live mail folders  and then you can see the missing storage folder. I moved a file from my inbox to it and, hey presto, the missing folder reappeared in my list of storage folders. I then moved the file back to where I wanted it.

It seems that this is yet another Windows 10 problem ...

Do they reappear if you click on the little arrow next to (on the left) the heading "Storage Folders"?
