How do I open an .aspx file?

I have just downloaded an .aspx file.  Windows 7 doesn't know how to open.  How can I open it?

An .ASPX file is a collection of processing routines written in Visual Basic Script. They are typically run from a web server or similar calling program by passing parameters into one or more of the routines.

If you try double-clicking the file, you are attempting to run it. When run out-of-context, e.g. not from a calling program, the .ASPX file can do nothing but damage.

If you want to see the underlying script commands, right click it and select Edit. The file should open in Notepad and you should be able to read the code.

    Right click the .aspx item.  Select Properties.  Associate program to open.  Find the Adobe Acrobat program and click it.  The .aspx then changes to show the adobe logo in front of the name and opens in adobe acrobat.

    Worked for me too. In this case, I renewed my driver's license online and when I opened the file it was all mumbo jumbo (technical term).

    This solution allowed me to open it in .pdf and see the content they way it was supposed to be.
