How do I open an .aspx file?

I have just downloaded an .aspx file.  Windows 7 doesn't know how to open.  How can I open it?

An .ASPX file is a collection of processing routines written in Visual Basic Script. They are typically run from a web server or similar calling program by passing parameters into one or more of the routines.

If you try double-clicking the file, you are attempting to run it. When run out-of-context, e.g. not from a calling program, the .ASPX file can do nothing but damage.

If you want to see the underlying script commands, right click it and select Edit. The file should open in Notepad and you should be able to read the code.

    Interesting! What if I told you that you can simply rename that file from .aspx to .pdf and run that file? Hehe

    Right click file, left click Properties, then under the General heading change the file name from xxx.asp x to something else, like bill.PDF. Save then open file.

    I made a copy of the file in question ( Just to make sure I didn't damage the original) then changed the copy extension to the same file name.JPEG and saved the copied file. It worked like a charm for me. BTW, I have Windows 7.wit

       I had the same problem with a file I downloaded on internet explorer.  Couldn't open it, couldn't open it

       couldn't open it..............................................  Then, I accidently downloaded the file using Chrome.  When I  

       went to open it,  the file it was already in PDF version and I'm not sure why, but try it and see if it works 

       for anyone else.

    I agree with the guys asking for help above that the individual purporting to answer the question was simply not answering the question - i.e. what steps/actions are required to open an asxp file. 

    Interpreting the eventual succinct answered offered of - right clicking on file - go to edit (or go to find program to open file) - save as a text file (only option available) - then (when gibberish text comes up) go to "save as" and replace aspx extension with pdf  then press save ------ creates a pdf document that does not have all the files information. Moreover after opening the pdf file I am told there is an "error".

    A simpler way is to ask the person initially creating/saving the file to replace the aspx extension with pdf. The file then saves as a pdf with no problem.
