Major Mouse problems, Left click acting like right click, very annoying!

Hey guys I have a really annoying problem. I have read about it on-line as other people seem to have experienced it but there is no real definitive answer. On rare occasions, my mouse will act funny. When you press the left button, it will act as the right, and the right button will continue to act as the right one. When you go into the mouse settings, even if you swap them around it still acts like there's two right clicks and no left click buttons. I have tried a number of suggestions from elsewhere on the web including re-booting my pc several times, trying to update windows, disabling the mouse, re-installing, using a different mouse etc.. no matter what I do the problem persists.

The only way to get the mouse back to normal is either to turn the pc off and leave it a few hours, in which case sometimes even that does not work. The only other time it rectifies itself is on its own. Sometimes it will just correct itself without you doing anything to it. I will be very thankful for any advice anyone can give. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know anything at all about it? Thanks BTW My system info: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit, Amd Athlon X2 2.2GHz CPU, 4GB Ram, XFX - MI-A78U-8309 M/B, Few SATA drives, Logitech MK300 Wireless K/Board and Mouse.

Can you go to start\control panel\system and security\Administrator Tools\Event Viewer

Please check if you have any error message under the Applications

than publish here or go to our website with this error issue to search

    Just updating my previous reply in July. Not sure what fixed this issue, but I haven't had an problems for the last month and a half. For the moment at least, the mouse issue seems to have worked itself out. Not sure how long that will last lol but I'm just gonna be happy that it hasn't caused me any grief for a while. Plan on getting a new mouse and keyboard shortly, so hopefully the problem stays away.

    Had this problem too and stumbled across a fix for myself. Dunno why, but if you hit the "shift" key it fixes the mouse problem.

    I don't think you guys are getting the point. We need to pressurize Microsoft to solve the problem once and for all. Listen, it has occurred on every single windows system I have ever owned, and every single mouse I have ever had... Please inform me if that has not been the case for everybody else. Let's get Microsoft to fit the button switching bug that has been around persistently since at least window 3.1, and even occurred with an MS presenter (I was there) when they showcased the up and coming win98!
