As of build 10074 turning off sleep mode does not work. Your best bet is turn your computer off since it has a slew of failures when it exits sleep mode, forcing you to restart anyway.
With Windows 8.1 simply from the desktop hit the windows start button. This allows your windows start menu pop up. If you look in the top right corner there is a magnify glass. Click this. Type power options it opens a screen click change plan settings. Turn off display. Change to never put computer to sleep change to never. Hit save. Exit out.

but, seriously, I use a very tiny program when I use windows, it's called "don't sleep"
