I too have this issue. I have Windows 7 and am trying to keep the computer from sleeping. I've changed the settings in Power Options/Put the computer to sleep to "never", Power Options/Turn off the Display to "never" and under the Advanced Power Options/Hard Disk/Turn Hard Disk Off After to "never". Computer still sleeps, what a headache when you need it to run for a long time.
How do I keep my pc from going to sleep. I've been to the power options and reset everyone to as long as possible. That doesn't work. I've tried every one of those options, not one will keep it from going to sleep after 1 minute. it's driving me crazy I can't read an article without it going to sleep.
With Windows 8.1 simply from the desktop hit the windows start button. This allows your windows start menu pop up. If you look in the top right corner there is a magnify glass. Click this. Type power options it opens a screen click change plan settings. Turn off display. Change to never put computer to sleep change to never. Hit save. Exit out.
