A required CD/DVD device driver is missing, usb installation

I'm trying to install windows 7 on my freshly built pc by using a usb device (no cd drive as of yet). I followed this guide to do this: http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-install-windows-7vista-from-usb-drive-detailed-100-working-guide/.

Whenever I try and boot the device on my new computer I get the "cd/dvd device driver missing..." error and a box for me to select drivers. I have tried changing the boot order in the BIOS but to no avail and I wanted to  change my sata ahci mode  but I couldn't find this option (american microtrends v1.6 bios).

I'd really appreciate it if somebody could help me solve this issue.

Ok, I've actually solved this myself via the help of a thread on tom's hardware. I'll post it here for anyone else struggling with the same issue:

OK now is the truth. This is the solution.

I assume all of you is using USB drive to install.

When Windows is asking for driver, just click Cancel. You will be brought back to the welcome screen. At the welcome screen, remove your USB drive, insert it back to DIFFERENT USB PORT. Click Install Now again. The installation process will be like usual.

This problem happened to all new version of updated Windows 7 installer. I think, it is due to failure of Windows installer to remain its detection to the USB drive. It lost the connection, and became confused, don't know where to find the USB drive it used to read before.

When we re-insert the USB drive, Windows installer will detect the USB drive back, and continue like usual.

    I experienced this issue when plugging the USB drive into a USB 3.0 port. USB 2.0 port worked fine.

    • Thank you. I have searched countless forums and received just as many answers. They were all serious answers, each answering serious problems. The problem was that I had none of these serious problems. I custom built my computer, made sure that every item was placed properly, ensuring that each minute piece was plugged in properly, scoured through the BIOS looking for WHY, JUST WHY this installation was failing.
    • Then my friend comes to help as well, jumping through the same hoops, scouring even more through the BIOS. Then he googles the same thing I have, using a slightly different keywords, since I didn't use "usb". We find your post, both reading it. When we read "unplug the stick and put it in a different port, we both scoffed, laughing at how idiotic this solution was. "If this works I'm going to run outside and scream" I said, "I will just start crying from laughing so hard." snarks my friend, both very much believing this isn't going to be the answer. However, since we've spent HOURS trying to figure this problem out, we both just agreed on "why the **** not" and tried it.
    • GUESS WHAT WORKED. Guess who fell on the floor laughing, and guess who ran outside scaring neighbors from screaming? We did. This solution makes absolutely no sense. How you found this out completely breaks my mind. You deserve at least 100 internet cookies, a great bear hug, and a well deserved high five. You are my unconventional hero and prevented me from throwing my $2300 freshly built computer out the window.
