need to chat with Microsoft technical supporth

I received a warning on my computer saying I have been infected with a virus and spyware and that I need to call Microsoft at 888-643-4862. Is this legit?

I can understand that Microsoft employees should get compensation for their services, this is only fair. I had been very frustrated because of my own inadequacies such as laziness with passwords and memory problems, and especially short temper. As if this were not enough, I prefer to blame you guys instead of me. BUT, I do not have the answers that I need in order to get things back to right. Hence the frustrations only mount. My problem of the moment is that I can never remember all the different changes to my password, and, that this causes big trouble because I have changed my telephone number and cannot enter Microsoft and get the new number installed and then get a phone call to resolve the issue with sticky note password changes that plagues me. Every time I wish to use a new service that exists on my new computer, or my older ones, I am forced to add another new password. I have one I prefer, and constantly seem to need a new variation on it. I do not care that seculars do not like my 'religious' password, too bad. I am keeping it, even if it means using Linux. I know some little bit about windows, and far less about other OS's so I would rather just get my current phone number entered into the system, since I no longer remember the old one through time, and extreme lack of use. I don't even use sleeper as a primary e-mail anymore.  I use ******@yahoo.com, and my phone number is 18166558132. can you e-mail me or call me, or should I make a change to an untried OS?

I bought a service plan and was working with a technician but the reset took so long I was told to call when it finished.
