Here are some utilities, all of which will display your product keys:

Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

(It does a good job of providing a wealth of information.)

Also: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml

and: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html

Note: Also check the side of your PC case or bottom of the laptop for the

OEM key code. If there is a sticker with the code it will most likely not

match what is displayed by the utilities mentioned above as OEMs such as

Dell use an internal key code when they build your PC.

The key code on the sticker is for use with your Windows CD

(that hopefully came with your PC)

if you ever need to reinstall Windows.

Retrieve your Windows 7 / 8/ 8.1 product key after you upgrade to Windows 10

    Download: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/ShowKeyPlus.shtml

    Review: http://www.groovypost.com/howto/find-windows-product-key-after-upgrading-windows-10/

For laptop user's also check the bottom of the laptop, sometime the key is inside the battery case and you may need to remove the battery.

As of February 6th, 2015 the Digital River links to the various versions of Windows 7 are no longer functioning, as an alternative (as long as you have your product key) you can use the link to Microsoft's Software Recovery web page: **http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery**

Note: You may receive a notice to contact the PC manufacture if you have an OEM key that came with your computer, but it can't hurt to try. Also note that this site may return an incorrect language for the product key you entered. Please read the wiki articles listed below as a possible solution.

    Additional information and alternative resources:

If you have a friend with a "Retail" version (Full or Upgrade media, just the media as you don't need their key) of the installation DVD (must be the same as your key was for: Home Premium, Pro or Ultimate) it will work with your "Retail" or "OEM" product key if you need to re-install or repair Windows.

    Hi,

I have Dell N4110(inspiron) with product key printed on sticker on the back of laptop. But the problem is sticker has faded (I bought it 2 years back) and I can't see entire product key on it.

Now I want to reinstall windows 7 in my laptop and I forgot to mention that I don't have Windows CD( didn't came with PC). I have used utilities softwares like belarc, magical jelly etc.  but they are providing incorrect key.

Is there any way to find product key so that I can reinstall windows in my laptop??

    Thanks in advance.

    Two possibilities:

    1. Use a flashlight and a magnifying glass to see if you can read the key on the sticker.
    2. You may have a "Recovery partition" on your disk drive which can be used to perform a clean install. Note that all data and applications will be lost so backup any data files you want to keep.
