Here are some utilities, all of which will display your product keys:

Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

(It does a good job of providing a wealth of information.)

Also: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml

and: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html

Note: Also check the side of your PC case or bottom of the laptop for the

OEM key code. If there is a sticker with the code it will most likely not

match what is displayed by the utilities mentioned above as OEMs such as

Dell use an internal key code when they build your PC.

The key code on the sticker is for use with your Windows CD

(that hopefully came with your PC)

if you ever need to reinstall Windows.

    Actually, George - VL Keys are treated no different to ordinary Keys by the OS - unless the installer includes a script which removes the Key from the registry. This is often done in insecure  places like Uni's to prevent the Key from being passed around and depleting the activations available.

    Just for information.

    The product keys on volume licenses are encrypted and will show as a B's with a keyfinder program. My son (he manages a huge worldwide it operation) tells me all volume license keys are encrypted by design ( he could have been referring to only enterprise as I don't think they use any others.). I know on the two enterprise installations I have looked at those are the results I have gotten. The MGA diagnostic seems to function differently also.

    From what little I know about volume licensing I think it lives on a different planet.

    In that case the System Administrator deliberately removed the Key to prevent multiple activation - you would either have to contact them for assistance, or purchase a new license.

    Thanks again for this quick response but I am sorry that the programme you suggested did not work either. It provided only BBBBB-BBBBB- and so on...

    I really dont know what to do now.

    Any further suggestions? Can Microsoft not only provide the Rest of the Key?
