my windows update has installed updates today august 10 2011. but these three dotnet updates (KB2539636  KB2533523  KB2468871) failed to install... can anyone help me please?? thank you...

btw i am using windows 7 home premium

...x64 - is for 64bit WIndows 7

...x86 - is for 32bit WIndows 7

How to find out if Windows 7 is 32bit or 64bit is here:

Maybe what you can try (before you try points 1..11) only turn Off your antivirus and turn Off UAC, then manually install the updates  that failed to installand  run Windows update to install rest of updates. Turn On your antivirus and turn On UAC. How turn Off UAC see point 5).

If these steps above not help, try to use these ones:

1) uninstall Net Framework 4.0 client from „Uninstall and change program“:

2) If you still see Net Framework 4.0 client in „Uninstall and change program“ use this tool for unistallation Net Framework 4.0 client:

    download, unpack and run „cleanup_tool.exe“ – from pull-down menu choose „.NET Framework 4“ and click „Cleanup Now“

  1. After uninstallation restart computer
  2. Turn Off (Disable) your antivirus
  3. Turn Off UAC (User Account Control) – howto do it:

6) Download and install Net Framework 4.0 from here (choose right language):

      (same for 32bit OS and 64bit OS)

7) restart computer

8) try to install manually all updates (KB??????) that failed to install

9) run Windows update and install rest of updates

10) T****urn On UAC (User Account Control) – howto do it:

11) Turn On (Enable) your antivirus

    I received a windows update last evening - 9/17 - Now I can not sign into my Verizon home page - does anyone have any information on what's going on?  I have contacted Verizon support and they've had many complaints this morning.

    Hello all,

    sorry to say that, but I am having this issue (error code 643) again, but only (!!) with KB2468871v2 since a while. I have already tried:

    • uninstalling .net 4 (normally and with the cleanup utility) and reinstalling the client and the full profile
    • manually instead of automatic installation
    • disabling UAC and antivirus
    • applying FixIt 50123
    • running MicrosoftFixit.wu.Run.exe

    All the other .Net fixed apply very well, so I have no more ideas. Please help.

    This problem has been plaguing me for MONTHS! I finally found this posting and FINALLY was able to get passed this annoying frustrating problem...

    My situation was not caused by Office 97 so I had to go the other suggested method: turning off UAC! However, I found that when going to the User Account Control Settings control panel in Windows 7, then sliding the slider down to "Never notify", nothing happened when clicking OK!! Did any one else find themselves in this trap?! There are hundreds of postings out there about it.

    I then searched around and found numerous articles and posts with people who had the same problem, but alas, none of their suggestions worked to turn off UAC.... even creating a new Administrator account and logging in as new user did not enable me to turn off UAC using the control panel!! So, I decided to do a registry hack using the command line instructions here: http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to-disable-and-turn-off-uac-in-windows-7/ That FINALLY disabled UAC...

    Next, anti-virus was already off, and I downloaded two of the KBs mentioned in this article manually, and lo-and-behold, after months stuck on this problem, they FINALLY installed.

    I have not been able to shut-down ANY of my Windows 7 machines for months because of failures to install various updates. It effected ALL of my home Windows Ultimate 32 machines at home and until today, I hadn't found a decent article to help. I wouldn't be surprised if a great number of Windows 7 users are experiencing this problem and don't know what to do. I am a .Net software engineer and this has intruded into my productivity for months. I feel sorry for any non technical user who would have given up months ago since I almost did.
