This was the reply that finally fixed my issues and Win10 is now DL'ing.

Caveat, I have to do this 7 times before it took.

This worked for me...

1. Access this file location C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloadand delete everything there. (Note delete only content found there and not the Download folder itself)
2. Open CMD (command prompt) with run as administrator (admin privileges) and run this command: wuauclt.exe /updatenow

The Update Window should pop-up with downloading Windows 10 again, and if your lucky it will be the complete kit this time.

Alex, there needs to be a new emoji named in honor of you and that tip/find w/a.  One that simply conveys "weeping due to joy".   Grief man, you have NO idea what I put myself through last 36 hours.  On the plus side, I did fix everything that was ever wrong in Event Viewer for the last 8 years.  Oh, well.  Windows 7 finally had a good couple of boots.

I did this and it created a new account on my computer that I cannot delete and the update did not work for this account either
