How do I change the mouse click from double to single? Looked in Control Panel under "Mouse"

Do you want to always use a single click to open files, run programs, etc? If so: Go to Control Panel > Folder Options . Under Click items as follows , select one of the Single-click options. Boulder Computer Maven Microsoft Most Valuable Professional

None of the above answers helped me. After much trial and error, I found the solution. My OS is Windows 10. Pull up your start menu, scroll down to Windows System tab, click on that, click on tab that says Control Panel, click on Appearance and Personalization tab, click on File Explorer Options under this caption it says (specify single- or double click- to open) and in the tab marked General, you will see the option to change mouse click. I hope this helps, maybe it will spare someone the time and aggravation I had trying to figure it out. LOL. Have a blessed day and let me know if this worked for you.

Thanks for the advise, I managed to sort the problem out by trial and error. I like you battled for a long time, you would have thought that the program developers would have added the solution to the mouse functions, so that the changing from one click to two would have had a logical method. Ha, not where you think, try this:

Click, Start>>>Control Panel>>>Folder Options>>>General Tab>>>Click items as follows>>>Single click/Double click

If you don't see folder options in the control panel, click on appearance and personalization, then folder options will be listed and change it to single click to open an item and point to select, save.
