How do I change the mouse click from double to single? Looked in Control Panel under "Mouse"

Thanks very much! For win 10, go to control panel and choose "file explorer options", as there is no longer a "folder options" choice. Then choose the "general" tab, and you will see the option to change to single click. Then hit apply and or ok I have no idea why this choice is not made available in the mouse settings, since that is where common sense dictates it would be there. I suppose that the minds that helped with the invention of PC's and Windows, are too deep for common thing's, like "sense" though......

I agree that "common sense" needs to be used to a much higher degree when deciding where to place options. Windows users shouldn't have to search all over, trying to guess where some Microsoft tech-nut decided to hide something as common as mouse settings. Most of us aren't novices and we get quite frustrated with upgrades and new Win versions, especially when things get moved around and placed in areas that don't make sense - to us anyway. Again, if it's not broken, please don't try to "fix"it. Thanks again to all y'all for your most helpful input! What would we do without these forums?

Ha, not where you think, try this:

Click, Start>>>Control Panel>>>Folder Options>>>General Tab>>>Click items as follows>>>Single click/Double click

If you don't see folder options in the control panel, click on appearance and personalization, then folder options will be listed and change it to single click to open an item and point to select, save.
