How do I change the mouse click from double to single? Looked in Control Panel under "Mouse"

Since the double-click switch hasn't happened in ages, I was stumped after searching Control Panel options. Why the heck isn't this info included in Mouse?! Why is Folder Options the last item in the CP list? I see less important things I'd throw to the bottom. Thanks SO much for making my evening and of course, bringing me JOY! I appreciate your thorough answer =) I'm gonna save this info, because I know I'll space when it happens again. It's too simple for my complex brain. U rock!

Yes it is in there; but you forgot to say go to Appearance and Personalization first!

Ha, not where you think, try this:

Click, Start>>>Control Panel>>>Folder Options>>>General Tab>>>Click items as follows>>>Single click/Double click

If you don't see folder options in the control panel, click on appearance and personalization, then folder options will be listed and change it to single click to open an item and point to select, save.
