How do I change the mouse click from double to single?

Ha, not where you think, try this:

Click, Start>>>Control Panel>>>Folder Options>>>General Tab>>>Click items as follows>>>Single click/Double click

If you don't see folder options in the control panel, click on appearance and personalization, then folder options will be listed and change it to single click to open an item and point to select, save.

Do you want to always use a single click to open files, run programs, etc?  If so:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Folder Options .
  2. Under Click items as follows , select one of the Single-click options.

    Assuming your computer is set up like mine, click on the “window” in the lower left corner. That gets you to the menu with all your programs and the place you shut your computer down. Then click on the little gear. That will bring up the Windows Settings menu. At the top there is a box to search. Search for single click and you should find it.

    In Windows 10, I looked in Control Panel... Mouse... and -- nothing! There is nothing under mouse pertaining to single click. How do I make the change in Windows 10 from the double click to a single one?
