Hi,

Method 1:

Disconnect all the external devices (printers, scanner, USB (Universal Serial Bus) drives, etc...)Except mouse and the keyboard and then boot up.

If this corrects the issue then add the devices back one at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any updated drivers\software for the device.

Method 2:

If you still come across the issue, I suggest you to run Hardware Troubleshooter and then check for the issue.

If you still come across the issue, I suggest you to run Hardware Troubleshooter and then check for the issue.

a)     Open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel.

b)     In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Hardware and Sound, click Configure a device.‌

c)       If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Access the link below to know more about Hardware Troubleshooter:

Method 3:

If the above step does not help us to diagnose the issue, uninstall the drivers for USB [Universal Serial bus] host controller and restart the computer. Let Windows install the generic drivers and then see if it helps you to fix the issue.

a)     Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, then Device Manager in the search box.‌

b)     If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

c)      Look for the device under USB [Universal Serial bus] host controller, right click on it and select Uninstall.

d)     Reboot the computer.

e)     On reboot, Windows 7 should re-install the drivers automatically.

Method 4:

If the above methods don’t work you can try to reinstall the drivers for your Canon Camera. To do so refer the link provided below:

Hope it helps. Please let us know for further assistance.

Hi, I had the same problem and now I have found out the solution.

    Solution:

Open Kies on your PC and Connect your Phone or Tablet ...

You will get the MTP driver failed.... don't worry.

Now go to your Phone Notification area by Sliding down from top. there you will see "Connected as Media Device" and "Touch for Other USB Options"

Touch it for more options and then you will see green tick on Media Device (MTP) and other option Camera (PTP) unchecked.

touch the Camera (PTP) ... and the check will move from Media Device (MTP) to Camera (PTP)

wait for atleast 2 minutes for your computer to recognize the device and check in My Computer... It should be appearing now ...

Now the last thing you need to do on the phone to go back and Select Media Device (PTP) and then your Kies will recognize you phone and you will see it in Kies.
