Windows 7 windows update broken after disk clone

I used EASEUS Diskcopy to clone a harddisk (new disk 750 GB) and now windows update does not work. Any suggestions?

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver fixed both Windows Update and Windows Search/indexing.  (Both were broken after cloning a 320 GB disc onto a 750 GB disc, and remained broken after the disc had been "aligned" using the Hitachi-linked Acronis Align program on the new disc.)

The IRSTD augments the function of the SATA controller; you can look in Device Manager under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" to find your exact Intel controller, if any.  If yours is listed in the referenced materials, you're in luck.

Definitely did the trick for me too!  Outlook 2010 search was not working, Window Update wasn't working.

Never thought software from HP could fix my problems.

It's an Intel software update offered by HP.

Sony and Intel were certainly of no help.  But HP was.  Thanks!

That's what solved my problem with W7HP64@Lenovo T61p. Thumbs up for HP!

The mysterious thing is that when I went to Intel site trying to download newest drivers there was no newer version. After applying HP driver besides solved problem I got also performance boost - the system boots visibly quicker.

How is it that HP is quicker with the driver than Intel itself?

Never thought software from HP could fix my problems. I'm not even shure how it did it :S
