I had same issue. Here is how to fix it. This is easy and works! Thanks to whoever figured it out.
After long day of research, at last I got the solution. It seems the new Windows Live has grouped the wldcore.dll and wldlog.dll (used by Messenger, Contacts and Mail) to a folder c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Shared

Maybe because I did upgrade install it screwed up things.
The solution was simply copy paste those 2 files wldcore.dll and wldlog.dll from c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Shared to
- c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger
- c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Contacts
- c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail
Now I can login to Windows Live Messenger and enjoy the whole Windows Live Essentials 2011 products.
I follwed you Instructions it did not work fior me
The problem may happen also when %PATH% is missing the
"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Windows Live\Shared" (64 bit)
or
"%ProgramFiles%\Windows Live\Shared" (32 bit)
directory.
Adding the directory again to %PATH% will fix the issue and keeps the files up to date in case of any subsequent software update of Live suite. Copy and paste of the dll will lead to problems when the software is updated, as long as the updated dlls are outside the install directory and the program will looks his own directory first, when searching dlls, thus finding and loading the outdated dll.
c:\ProgramFiles\WindowsLive\Shared cannot be found on my Win 7 laptop.
Everything in my email account is okay and I can forward emails that I have received.
My problem is, I cannot send to a friend/facebook etc. when online, without the information
that I don't have WLDCore.dll and to re-install it.
Brilliant.!! This worked perfectly to fix my problem. I salute you!!
