When forwarding emails, pictures are stripped from text & put in slide show destroying original

I have Windows 7 & IE8. When I receive a perfectly good email with pictures or gif's embedded in the text and TRY TO FORWARD IT, the forwarded email has all the pictures stripped out & put in a slide show. The text is full of the dreaded red x's & the whole thing is unreadable.

How can I stop this? Turn off the slide show feature?

    Hi SOCSeven,

Microsoft is correct in regards to Outlook Express, and I am on Windows 7. I am refering to Outlook, not Outlook Express. Although the names are similar, they are two different things. Outlook is a component of the Microsoft Office suites, although not all versions have it. For instance, Microsoft Office Home and Student does not have it. I managed to obtain Microsoft Office 2007 and Outlook is included. Outlook is similar to Outlook Express, but has considerably more features, many of which I probably will never use. Outlook is also available as a paid for standalone version.

Getting started with Outlook, I found the help and support from Microsoft Office to be absolutely outstanding. I found the help and support for Windows Live Mail to be virtually non existent.

Hope this helps - Good Luck

    Oh dear..........

I have Microsoft Office 2003 and have no intention of upgrading (it cost a fortune). Outlook 2003 is on there but I don't have the balls to pull the trigger & install it. Same with Thunderbird. Well, not yet anyway.

Imagine. Microsoft software being so bad I'm considering going back almost a decade to find something that works.

Windows 7  & WLM at Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3538.0513) only on my PC, this problem of removing the photo from a message & sending it via a Reply or Forward has just started today for me & I do not know if any updates have slipped through.

    A real PITA.

And to make me cranky, it, the bug, is not consistent, sometimes it strips the photo & adds it as an attachment to be viewed as a slide show thus ruining the story line with photos & the next time, all is good.

    Hello YMR5577 - Ron

I agree with you 100% when you say "the bug, is not consistent". I have noticed some other things that make me wonder if there have been some changes and/or some improvements made. ( I use the term improvements loosely - lol ). If there has been changes. I sure wish there was some way that we WLM users could find out about this. I have searched and searched and searched and found nothing. In the meantime I am monitoring these WLM posts while I use Windows Outlook for most things.
