When forwarding emails, pictures are stripped from text & put in slide show destroying original

I have Windows 7 & IE8. When I receive a perfectly good email with pictures or gif's embedded in the text and TRY TO FORWARD IT, the forwarded email has all the pictures stripped out & put in a slide show. The text is full of the dreaded red x's & the whole thing is unreadable.

How can I stop this? Turn off the slide show feature?

    NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Windows 7 continues to screw up my emails with no resolution nor even any attempt to fix it.

    Thanks for nothing Mr Gates.

    Merry Christmas.

I've only had Widows & (and Live Mail) less than two months and read interest the way Microsoft is ignoring this issue.  Notice the link

http://windowslivehelp.com/thread.aspx?threadid=6d0fd8d8-774c-421e-aa8b-90ad6074c2bc which has been locked since Jan 26 2011 because this was a known issue.

Have any of the users found an alternative email client yet?

    Hey @OldRon.

There is nothing you can do in Windows Live Mail (WLM) to bypass this mess. The problem apparently lies with WLM and it will seemingly at random, destroy your emails. Microsoft knows about it and ..well... you can see the result.

However, when you are forwarding an email and get the dreaded “One or more of the pictures in this message could not be found. When you send this message these pictures will not be included. Are you sure you want to send this message?” error message, you'll know you're about to be hit.

At that point, exit your message, exit WLM and log on directly to your mail service at your ISP. At that point you can forward your email message without it being tampered with because WLM doesn't get involved...... at least it works for me................. and I don't understand why.

Why then, you may ask, should I ever use WLM?

    Good question.

I guess some of us are just old, stubborn and don't understand why bugs don't get fixed. I've been programming since 1967 and not one of my bosses would have EVER put up with this.

BTW guys, I saw on the web where you can email Mr. G at billg@microsoft.com

Yeah, right......... but I gave it a shot and received the following reply.

"Thank you for contacting Microsoft regarding your issue with Windows Live Mail. I checked the link you provided and it appears that this is an issue that the Windows Live team is aware of and are working on. Unfortunately I do not have any further details to provide at this time.

For further information, I would recommend that you reach out to our Technical Support team. You can contact them through http://support.microsoft.com/ and they may be able to provide further assistance.

I went to the link and my heart sank. It looks like another minefield that leads you to an impenetrable Windows Live Essentials maze. If anyone wants to try it  be my guest, just let us know what happens.

Merry Christmas all. See ya next year!
