When forwarding emails, pictures are stripped from text & put in slide show destroying original

Instead of Microsoft fixing the problem when I e-mailed a copy of my same problem, they in turn refered me to this forum. Now thats a real fix, How dumb when everyone is having the same problem. How is the forum going to fix their screw-ups?

It is interesting that Microsoft have been aware of this bug for many, many months but apparently do not consider going backwards to the version that did work, ASAP and get the bug fixed before releasing the update again - no, that appears to be too hard  or sensible

The suggestions from Moderators to have the photos as attachments is OK if there is no corresponding text to go with & explain the photos - jumping backwards & forwards to photos & text from two different screens is really a no-go.

In the mean time, my Outlook 2007 & the latest Thunderbird work perfectly in sending e-mails with embedded photos combined with text.

Yes, I suspect, the young members of this forum, those born in the 1990's, will be grand-parents by the time Microsoft sort this out.

As already confirmed on this thread, this is a known issue with Live Mail that should be fixed in the next release of the client. I'm afraid we still have no exact time to confirm when the next release will be. Updates should be posted in these forums.

For the meantime, you can send the e-mail as attachment instead of forwarding them to your contacts. That should retain all the images in the e-mail.

Well here we are - Windows Live Glenn M said on May 8, 2011, nearly one year ago,

 " this is a known issue with Live Mail that should be fixed in the next release of the client".

So tell me Windows Live Glenn M, when will we see the  next release of the client?

Guys, not to digress (stripped images are still a major problem), but I just happened to look at the very first posting to this thread, where the writer asked about turning off the WLM slide-show feature.

Just this week, I received an e-mail from a fellow at work who uses a Mac for graphic production.  He had attached a number of photos, a Word .doc and some HTML files to his note to me.  Instead of showing up at the top of the WLM pane as a list, complete with file names and extensions, they instead showed up as a "slide show" at the top.  In fact, I missed the Word .doc entirely, because it was about #10 in the series, clear off the right-hand edge of the window.

I've had trouble with this slide-show feature before.  In fact, I think it had a major bug prior to one of the most recent WLM updates (yes, there really have been a couple), where it just wouldn't play.  Fortunately, most of the time you can double-click one of the slide show images and have the file open in whatever program is associated.  But turning off the feature entirely, and just having whatever attachments there are show up like they do in Outlook, for example, would be great.  Anyone else have thoughts on this?

In retrospect, my associate should have zipped all those files together, but still...
