When forwarding emails, pictures are stripped from text & put in slide show destroying original

I have Windows 7 & IE8. When I receive a perfectly good email with pictures or gif's embedded in the text and TRY TO FORWARD IT, the forwarded email has all the pictures stripped out & put in a slide show. The text is full of the dreaded red x's & the whole thing is unreadable.

How can I stop this? Turn off the slide show feature?

    This is UNBELIEVABLE!!! I just read 15 pages of posts over a 2 1/2 year period and there still is no answer. Well just goes to prove what my brother, sister-in-law and son have been telling me. GET A MAC!!

    All I can say is WOW, three of you have really hung in here:

    SOCSeven, Tom (aka Reallyoldguy) and a fairly much newbie electrojim. Where is everyone else? Maybe they got a MAC.

    I will check on this from time to time. Thinking how to plaster this all over the web.

    I am in virtual shock !!! Microsoft PROMISED to fix the problem of "When forwarding emails, pictures are stripped from text & put in slide show destroying original"

    ****Yesterday I downloaded Windows Live Mail,  2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205) Definitely an upgrade from the WLM 2011...version 15...... and still the same problem... Microsoft let me down...I have been fighting this problem for over two years... through 2 different computers & two different operating systems

    Win 7 64 bit AND Win 8 64 bit....PLEASE HELP !!!!!

    Hi again,

    I have Windows 7 Home Edition and Internet Explorer 9.

    I have been browsing Windows 8 forums and Internet Explorer 10 forums, and I definitely will stay right where I am! I went from XP direct to Win7 (no Vista) and have been quite happy with it.

    Actually there's another thread on this same subject that I've been following.  Evidently there is a new version of WLM, but it only runs under Win7 and Win8, and I'm running Vista.  I've toyed with the idea of upgrading this machine to Win7 (never to Win8!), but am reluctant to tempt fate, as Vista's been running flawlessly for me for some years now.
