When forwarding emails, pictures are stripped from text & put in slide show destroying original

I have Windows 7 & IE8. When I receive a perfectly good email with pictures or gif's embedded in the text and TRY TO FORWARD IT, the forwarded email has all the pictures stripped out & put in a slide show. The text is full of the dreaded red x's & the whole thing is unreadable.

How can I stop this? Turn off the slide show feature?

Will this issue ever get resolved?  I've developed a habit:  Whenever I try to forward an email with images and get the warning box (Windows Live Mail can't find one or more pictures, or words to that effect), I simply cancel the forward.  For those who haven't figured it out yet, the warning box is the clue that the forward won't format properly.  Sad.  I'm not smart enough to make the offered "workarounds" work.  How long will this go on?  Maybe Windows 8 will offer an email client that works.  But i am still hoping . . .

Thanks Jev, I will help in any way I can, no problem, but I am only an amateur at this computer stuff, so please bear with me.
