When forwarding emails, pictures are stripped from text & put in slide show destroying original

Well folks, after about a month of reading pages and pages of forum postings about this issue I've come to a decision.

I installed Thunderbird and configured it as my email client.  Now, in addition to getting and sending emails without modifications by the software, I can also sync the calendar with my "cloud" calendar.  It's too bad Microsoft doesn't pay attention to these forum posts.  Next time I purchase a computer, I'm going to have to look at Apple.  Perhaps there's support there.

BTW - Zimbra didn't work too good.  There are possibilities there, but it's not ready for prime time.

Over a year later and still the problem exists.  Is Microsoft really working on this as they've posed on this thread or are they just stonewalling us?

Has anyone tried Zimbra email client.  On the surface it looks like an Outlook clone.

An alternative e-mail client - why not then try Thunderbird?

But it too has problems with fonts changing in the middle of some messages when replying!

Yeah, right......... but I gave it a shot and received the following reply.

I went to the link and my heart sank. It looks like another minefield that leads you to an impenetrable Windows Live Essentials maze. If anyone wants to try it  be my guest, just let us know what happens.

There is nothing you can do in Windows Live Mail (WLM) to bypass this mess. The problem apparently lies with WLM and it will seemingly at random, destroy your emails. Microsoft knows about it and ..well... you can see the result.

However, when you are forwarding an email and get the dreaded “One or more of the pictures in this message could not be found. When you send this message these pictures will not be included. Are you sure you want to send this message?” error message, you'll know you're about to be hit.

At that point, exit your message, exit WLM and log on directly to your mail service at your ISP. At that point you can forward your email message without it being tampered with because WLM doesn't get involved...... at least it works for me................. and I don't understand why.

Why then, you may ask, should I ever use WLM?

Good question.

I guess some of us are just old, stubborn and don't understand why bugs don't get fixed. I've been programming since 1967 and not one of my bosses would have EVER put up with this.
