When forwarding emails, pictures are stripped from text & put in slide show destroying original

I have Windows 7 & IE8. When I receive a perfectly good email with pictures or gif's embedded in the text and TRY TO FORWARD IT, the forwarded email has all the pictures stripped out & put in a slide show. The text is full of the dreaded red x's & the whole thing is unreadable.

How can I stop this? Turn off the slide show feature?

    Oh, KatzNDawg,

How naive.  Your feelings reflect my first reaction to this, shortly after installing WLM 2011, or whatever it was.  Microsoft has no interest in this.  As proven by the number of pages in this thread, many of us have begged, pleaded, threatened and cajoled MS, nothing works.  MS has bigger fish to fry; too bad WLM is basically a very good program.

I wish I had the name of the lead codewriter for this project.  This is a simple fix!

OKAY, NOW, GUYS,  let's find an alternative to WLM.  Outlook?  Thunderbird?  Anyone else?

I agree. I have had this happen numerous times as well as not being to send forwarded photos at all with Win Live Mail 2012 w/ the new Win 8. One answer told me to go to control panel, find Windows Essentials and choose repair. I did that. No go.

Using gmail IMAP, thought I finally had a workaround so I could get both my email accounts into one spot (the other acct. is POP mail and my provider does NOT support IMAP.)

I don't feel I should have to go to 2 different accts using the web to check my email after spending $800 on a new computer!  Microsoft really needs to fix this NOW!

Excellent June 24 message to Firedog. When Firedog said this in his Jun 16 message "The problem with your forwarded messages is that after WLMail has swallowed the message and regurgitated it as a new one to be forwarded, the internal link no longer works. I don't know why, because I've never had the problem. Whatever the reason, WLMail will treat the message in the same way as if that internal link didn't exist. This means showing thumbnail images in the message head bar, with the option to view the attached images as a slide show." He hit on the problem! Why the **** can't MS figure this out. I am tired of trying to forward emails with photos and text that goes with specific photos only to get the warning about some photos not found. I also hate getting emails that folks send where the pics are all nice and neat at the top and can be viewed in a slideshow without the appropriate text for each photo (so who the **** wants to see the slide show that way) This should be a fixable problem. I have searched all over the place for the last several months, to find an answer and this is as close to the cause as I have seen. HEY MICROSOFT READ THIS AND DO SOMETHING!!
