When forwarding emails, pictures are stripped from text & put in slide show destroying original

Hi everyone,

As already confirmed on this thread, this is a known issue with Live Mail that should be fixed in the next release of the client. I'm afraid we still have no exact time to confirm when the next release will be. Updates should be posted in these forums.

For the meantime, you can send the e-mail as attachment instead of forwarding them to your contacts. That should retain all the images in the e-mail.

Well here we are - Windows Live Glenn M said on May 8, 2011, nearly one year ago,

So tell me Windows Live Glenn M, when will we see the  next release of the client?

I am sure we are all waiting with bated breath for your answer.

Guys, not to digress (stripped images are still a major problem), but I just happened to look at the very first posting to this thread, where the writer asked about turning off the WLM slide-show feature.

Just this week, I received an e-mail from a fellow at work who uses a Mac for graphic production.  He had attached a number of photos, a Word .doc and some HTML files to his note to me.  Instead of showing up at the top of the WLM pane as a list, complete with file names and extensions, they instead showed up as a "slide show" at the top.  In fact, I missed the Word .doc entirely, because it was about #10 in the series, clear off the right-hand edge of the window.

I've had trouble with this slide-show feature before.  In fact, I think it had a major bug prior to one of the most recent WLM updates (yes, there really have been a couple), where it just wouldn't play.  Fortunately, most of the time you can double-click one of the slide show images and have the file open in whatever program is associated.  But turning off the feature entirely, and just having whatever attachments there are show up like they do in Outlook, for example, would be great.  Anyone else have thoughts on this?

In retrospect, my associate should have zipped all those files together, but still...

When I get an e-mail with pictures on it with the writing under the pic's, it is alright. But when i forward that same e-mail, the recipent on the other end gets the e-mail with the pictures going across the top of the e-mail with no writing under them. At the bottom of the e-mail is all the writing, but no pictures. How can I correct this? This is really a faulty problem windows live. Update this problem Microsoft.

Thanks, glad to be back, but not thrilled that things have not improved. If I may, I would like to expand on a comment I made in my last post. I said - - -

Perhaps "seriously flawed" is not really accurate. WLM is probably doing what its programmers have designed it to do. But in doing so, it has isolated its self and has become incompatible with all the other email programs out there. To my way of thinking, this is unacceptable and is the "serious flaw" that I was eluding to.
