Arc Touch Mouse Scroll stops working

Hi,

I'm using Win 7 (32 bit) with the MS arc Touch mouse software and drivers installed. Running on HP TX2 Touchsmart Tablet.

I'm facing a problem with my mouse with regards to the scroll function.

After "switching on" the mouse, there is a green led light and everything seems to work. The green LED then disappears, presumably to save battery.

However, after a short period of time, the scroll function will not work at all. There is no scroll "feedback" felt from the scroll strip either. But when I flatten the mouse and turn it back on again, everything works as per normal.

But after some time, the same problem resurfaces. Then, I have to turn the mouse off and back on again. Sometimes, the scroll function "turns" itself back on automatically. But most of the time, it just stops working altogether.

This is very irritating. It seems nobody else have encountered this issue.

Please help!!

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I was really interested in that mouse but didn't know whether to take that chance or not. Now, I'm really considering it. I don't really know whether the one I find on the site is really the 2017 model, as there are some comments dating from 2015. What's your mouse model number?

    Thank you!

Thanks for the update, Steve! That's great news! I love the idea behind the mouse but have been so annoyed with how it (doesn't) work that I've mostly given up using it. That said, the new 2017 model has me intrigued and I only haven't bought one because of the high dollar amount. But, knowing that your experience has been good so far makes me all the more anxious to pick one up.

I would personally love to continue to hear about your experience good or bad in the coming weeks.

    Again, thank you!!!

It makes me wonder if they would accept the old mouse, along with some sort of upgrade fee, to get the new mouse.

    Hi All,

Eight days on, the mouse continues to work properly.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Azeez N,

I gave up waiting for a response from MS and returned my Arc Mouse to the store for an exhange. The new one I received works perfectly! Maybe MS should advise to return the mouse for exchange for a new one, rather than referring people to the troubleshooting page...

    Hi All,

Yesterday, I picked up a new (2017, just released in July) Surface Arc Touch mouse. In the few hours that I've used it with my SP4 thus far, I haven't had any problems. I wouldn't feel confident suggesting that others buy one yet without months of testing by a large number of users, but I'm guardedly optimistic that we might now finally have an arc mouse that actually works.

Does anyone else have one, and if so, what have your experiences been so far?

    Thanks,

    Steve
