Arc Touch Mouse Scroll stops working

Hi,

I'm using Win 7 (32 bit) with the MS arc Touch mouse software and drivers installed. Running on HP TX2 Touchsmart Tablet.

I'm facing a problem with my mouse with regards to the scroll function.

After "switching on" the mouse, there is a green led light and everything seems to work. The green LED then disappears, presumably to save battery.

However, after a short period of time, the scroll function will not work at all. There is no scroll "feedback" felt from the scroll strip either. But when I flatten the mouse and turn it back on again, everything works as per normal.

But after some time, the same problem resurfaces. Then, I have to turn the mouse off and back on again. Sometimes, the scroll function "turns" itself back on automatically. But most of the time, it just stops working altogether.

This is very irritating. It seems nobody else have encountered this issue.

Please help!!

    Here's the fix for the scroll not working:

    Remove the refrigerator magnet from the underside of the flex mechanism that is meant to stow the micro USB receiver when not in use.

    I removed the one from mine and it works like a champ. It's a little slow to react when you move between screens but then it does everything you dreamed it would.

    There are two tiny torx screws under the sticker in the battery compartment. Once those are removed you can work your way in and get the magnet out. Pry it out as it has adhesive on the back and stick it on your fridge where it belongs. Good strong magnet the will hold up some fine art work from my 4 year old.

    Just got a brand new Arc mouse, surface edition as a present. Same problem, windows 8.1 with latest updates, and have been using the latest Arc config software. The scrolling just stops working while the rest of the mouse functionality is fine. It's kind of amazing they just re-skinned / re-branded the same broken stuff. Definitely getting a 1-star on Amazon.

    THIS IS CRAZY !!!

    Im looking for answers on MICROSFT website for MICROSOFT PRODUCT not working.

    I dont think Microsoft cares here. 

    I have to agree that the design and the idea is great, but not worth a penny if it doesnt serve its purpose.

    MICROSOFT ARC !!! Your place is in my BIN

    This is terrible. I have just read the 3 pages spanning 3 years or more and I have the same issues, if not more, as all the ones written about. Clearly there is hardware issue that Microsoft must know about by now. The fact that they have not actively reached out to provide a real fix makes me want to actively dissuade people from using Microsoft products. This also means that the Microsoft staff who respond to these issues know about this and have no further fix, as the one offered is ineffective. So they are essentially reading these shrugging their shoulders.  Very disappointed. Very disappointed. Did I mention that I am very disappointed?
