Arc Touch Mouse Scroll stops working

Hi,

I'm using Win 7 (32 bit) with the MS arc Touch mouse software and drivers installed. Running on HP TX2 Touchsmart Tablet.

I'm facing a problem with my mouse with regards to the scroll function.

After "switching on" the mouse, there is a green led light and everything seems to work. The green LED then disappears, presumably to save battery.

However, after a short period of time, the scroll function will not work at all. There is no scroll "feedback" felt from the scroll strip either. But when I flatten the mouse and turn it back on again, everything works as per normal.

But after some time, the same problem resurfaces. Then, I have to turn the mouse off and back on again. Sometimes, the scroll function "turns" itself back on automatically. But most of the time, it just stops working altogether.

This is very irritating. It seems nobody else have encountered this issue.

Please help!!

Right, stay away from the app & keep your mouse safe and functional.

Just to confirm (and duplicate) what's already been said:  Brand new mouse worked fine.  I installed the 'recommended' app, and the scroll stopped.  Had the mouse replaced.  Won't go near the app again.  Mouse works fine except for the odd 'losing' signal.  A quick flatten and arc (off-on) and we're back in business.  Trusting they'll sort out these small niggles - it's a really great device and works very well with my Surface Pro3.

I wish I saw this before. I was trying to "fix" the scroll failing at times and managed to break the scroll altogether with the Windows 10 app. Too bad I can't ask for a replacement since I live in Brazil and they don't sell the mouse here.

Oh I agree. I was happy to have mine replaced.

As far as Microsoft's approach to building Windows 10 - opening it up to the public, allowing them to participate in the development process, to report problems, offer suggestions and feedback, and allowing the developers a more direct way to gauge public reaction to concept ideas and engage user concerns - it's been an extremely positive move in my opinion. One that I personally believe should have been done long before now, and that other companies could benefit from and should certainly consider.

Though the number of persisting bugs does concern me so close to launch, I hope they're able to pull it off and get a big win with Windows 10. I'm certainly rooting for them.

Well, they do pay attention to described problems there. At least the team responsible for Windows 10 is working hard enough to get it better & really looks through our feedback. They're surprisingly good, so I guess this issue with the mouse will be worked out. I don't wanna give up with this mouse, it's too good to switch to something else.
