Arc Touch Mouse Scroll stops working

Hi Guys, 

I assume that there is a problem with the motor, as AFS84 mentioned. Anyway, the clicking sound was annoying me. I had the same stopping/dropping the scroll issue, and I hope it can be fixed by software.

My solution:

1. Download the Mouse and Keyboard Center  from http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/arc-touch-mouse#support.
2. Install it, and start it.
3. Click on the "Touch strip"
4. Turn "Vibration/Sound" to Off.

At least I don't have the sound and it seems that it is fixed the scrolling issue.

Seriously? I mean the mouse would be brilliant if it wasn't for the freaking scroll wheel messing up but Linux??? Linux does not and never has had a future beyond data centres. Apple and Android are merely based on different kernels in the same way Win7 and Win8 are based on different kernals. Microsoft hasn't has a brighter future in the past 14 years as they do now. Linux is dead and Android will start to fall in the next couple years for 2 reasons - 1) lack of ecosystem - something Apple and MS have very solidly and 2) consumer computing is more and more just a commodity thing - which means when someone gets their PC home they want to turn it on log in and start working and that is what Linux lacks. With Win8.1 there is no maintenance, no messing around with stuff behind the scenes - it maintains itself in the back ground and is much more straight forward for what probably 90% of people want at home, so enjoy being part of the 1% who uses Linux on a PC and I'll stay enjoying things on the 91% of the market side of things.

Oh and without 'overpriced' stuff the kids of tomorrow will have next to no work in IT so I hope they enjoy the unemployment line.

Yep, I only purchased this cause it looked modern, and portable, and I have had 2 other MS Bluetooth mice (one was 'lost' to a co-worker who I loaned it to, and loved it so much it never came back, and the other died after 3 years of solid use).

I definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone until the issue is fixed.

Here's the fix for the scroll not working:

Remove the refrigerator magnet from the underside of the flex mechanism that is meant to stow the micro USB receiver when not in use.

I removed the one from mine and it works like a champ. It's a little slow to react when you move between screens but then it does everything you dreamed it would.

There are two tiny torx screws under the sticker in the battery compartment. Once those are removed you can work your way in and get the magnet out. Pry it out as it has adhesive on the back and stick it on your fridge where it belongs. Good strong magnet the will hold up some fine art work from my 4 year old.

I'm having the same issue as everyone and this information doesn't help.  The manual online just seems to be generic information for a variety of wireless mice.

None of the methods on that link you submitted helped, that too is just generic methods to try to resolve an issue.  It's only one feature that stops working; therefore, trying it on a different computer, re-syncing or trying different USB ports isn't going to fix the issue.

Please give us information that's useful to help fix this issue for the Arc Touch Mouse not information for any wireless mouse.  Thanks!
