Arc Touch Mouse Scroll stops working

Hi,

I'm using Win 7 (32 bit) with the MS arc Touch mouse software and drivers installed. Running on HP TX2 Touchsmart Tablet.

I'm facing a problem with my mouse with regards to the scroll function.

After "switching on" the mouse, there is a green led light and everything seems to work. The green LED then disappears, presumably to save battery.

However, after a short period of time, the scroll function will not work at all. There is no scroll "feedback" felt from the scroll strip either. But when I flatten the mouse and turn it back on again, everything works as per normal.

But after some time, the same problem resurfaces. Then, I have to turn the mouse off and back on again. Sometimes, the scroll function "turns" itself back on automatically. But most of the time, it just stops working altogether.

This is very irritating. It seems nobody else have encountered this issue.

Please help!!

    I am fixing it the same way. But for me, the fixing is done by rubbing the concave line between upper and lower "scrolls".

    agreed.

    It's interesting how a corporation with a near monopoly on software (windows/office/etc) can not get the point of quality control in hardware.  Apple must thank microsoft for these issues.

    As this thread dates back to 2011, I have come to the realization that Microsoft doesn't care about this product (other than it sells) and has no plan to fix it.

    I am using a Surface 3 Pro with windows 10 and, while this mouse travels well, I generally have to re-boot it about 3-4 times a day just for cursor control.  I have totally given up on the scroll pad and am actually surprised when it does happen to work.  I use a conventional wireless keyboard and mouse when in my office.

    I reseated the batteries and everything returned to normal. My mouse is the Microsoft Arc which is a newer type mouse. Not that that has anything to do with the price of tea in China.
