network icon says "no internet access" but i am connected

Hey guys,

so I'm having a bit of an issue. I'm running a fresh install of win7 for over a week without any problems. Yesterday, for no apparent reason (ie. no updates, no modifications, no new software install...really NOTHING) my network access icon on the bottom right taskbar has a yellow triangle over it and says i have "no internet access" even though i clearly have internet.

I probably wouldnt be worried too much if it was just a wrong icon, but the problem is, software that check for updates and checks to see if im online keeps saying im offline and can only work in offline mode.

This is causing a serious issue.

Any1 have any clues how to fix this?

I run Kasp Antivir 2010 and thats about it. No other wierd or free software...no extra firewalls nothing. I just dont get how it can just happen from 1 day to the other.

Oh and the whole win7 "Troubleshoot" didnt detect any problems.

cheers.

M.

Hi,

If the issue persists then, create a Windows user account and check if this issue occurs with the new user account.

Refer the link to create a new user account.

To fix the corrupted profile follow the steps mentioned in the following article.

‘Fix a corrupted user profile’

I have the same issue, and guess what you mentioned above that you have Kaspersky anti-virus, so maybe that's the culprit.

The triangle icon appeared after I installed the Kaspersky on it... so maybe you should check it out.

i have the dreaded triangle icon in yellow too. brand new, out of the box toshiba windows 7. i have had many issues, but this one takes the biscuit. so....i connect to many routers in different countries. also i use a Alpha wireless Lan utility with an external antenna to give increased wifi conectivity. either with or without the external antenna i get this problem, the dreaded yellow icon over the wireless indicator at the taskbar. i have been meaning to post on here for ages but have just got the time now, hence this post.

so here is my theory. i have no problems with certain routers. i have performed every repair and reconfigeration and uninstall as is humanly possible. one thing that works allbeit temporarily, is uninstalling the driver, but even now i find that this fix does not work anymore. the router is a NordNet 26CC. it is a tiny thing and if i re set it the problem sort of goes away then returns another time, or when i disconnect re connect the offending laptop. i deduce therefor, that if you have followed instructions and uninstalled drivers and re set things, and still have the problem, then the problem is with the router. this is annoying, as an xp model and another windows 7 model work perfectly, but this toshiba does not. i still get internet, but that irritating yellow triangle sits there and reminds me that the ubuntu is beckoning. don't get me wrong, i love microsoft, but for me, with issues like this, and others i fail to mention, it's days are difinitely numbered.
