After using it for years I now get message on screen "Windows Vista Build 6002 This copy of Windows is not genuine "

Please post your MGADiag report in a NEW thread of your own  people are confused enough as it is!

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

Once saved, run the tool.

Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.

To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

I to have been having this problem. I've been trying to log in the production key which came with the computer and the programs. However, it says it is not the product key. I can't afford to purchase a new windows key its to expensive. Why is it not genuine when I purchase the computer everything was working fine. All of sudden now this is starting to irritate me. What else can I do. My computer works fine, but the fact that the not geniune pops up is frustrating!

That is exactly as I feel and I suppose many other faithful users of Windows so how is it that Microsoft expects us to put up with this nonsense and expect us to get the solution by posting our problem ad infinitum to this platform. I first thought DELL had preloaded faulty Vista software which of course they denied! Pity Dell does not take up the issue with MSFT since their reputation could be put at risk!

No it wasn't - look at the date on that post - it was dated 29th May!

In case you haven't noticed, there are more than two people posting in this thread, and have been since it started. ALL people who subscribe to the thread, inclucing the original poster get emails of ALL responses to the thread.

Please repost a NEW MGADiag report, if you are still having problems - otherwise I have no clue what you are talking about

If you ever actually answered the questions that were asked, it would make everyone's life easier - and you would get your solution.

Since the first post in this thread on 29 May, you've been asked for a full MGADiag report - and so far have not produced one. It's no good on your desktop, it needs to be in the thread!

Thanks for the reply.  My issue is the sticker on the bottom of my laptop is worn and faded due to friction, sweat, etc.  The sticker is still there, but I can't read the number on it.

Do you know how I can go about finding out what my legit key number is?
