For some reason the Operating system is unable to properly read the BIOS SLIC table on which it depends to self-activcate teh OEM_SLP License in use.

The solution is to change the Product Key  to the one on your COA stiaker on the machne's case, and then activate by phone.

Open System Properties, and scroll to the bottom of the page - cick on the Change Product Key link there, and follow the instructions - when it comes to activation pick teh alternative method - phone.

I done that more than once and still have got nowhere with the same

message on screen "Windows Vista Build 6002 This copy of Windows is not genuine " irritating me daily

Surely MSFT could do better than expect me to keep posting the problem repeatedly online without any response from MSFT direct. I paid for Vista and did not get it gratis so why must I suffer all this nonsense?

I think it would be best if you started a NEW thread of your own, and include teh MGADiag report....

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

    Once saved, run the tool.

Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.

To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
