Trying to figure out the maximum number of points that can be scored playing spider solitaire intermediate -----the one with two suits.

My highest scores for Spider Solitaire (Windows 7's version) on intermediate are as follows:

1238 (5/23/2010)

1222 (6/20/2010)

1214 (8/30/2010)

1195 (4/4/2011)

1180 (6/12/2011)

I'm positive there are higher scores possible. :)

Wikipedia states that the highest possible score is 1293 given a perfect deal (and I'm assuming that's on Expert mode given the additional score possibilites being lower than what I've achieved on intermediate mode).

Win percentage is almost meaningless (addressing another "answer") as all games of Spider Solitaire are winnable given the unlimited undo's in Windows' version. I've played 646 games thus far with a 100% win percentage.

You can get as high a score as you want.  It just takes time.

Find a game where when you clear a column you get the no more moves screen.  You just got 100 points. Click to return to the game and undo.  The game forgets to take away the 100 points.   clear the column again and get another 100 points (minus the point for the undo and the point for the move to clear the column).  Wash, rinse, repeat until you reach the score you want or get bored.

    Before windows 7 there was no chance of unlimited undos so the best scores i had was upto 1210. but with unlimited undos it is possible to go above 1300+ Once i have even got 1400+ however I have not been able to pinpoint how this happens.

    Most of the times when you do undos and also take the stacks which gave you 100 back to undo 3-5 times somehow they add up and final scores are more than 1300+

    But not been able to figure out how this happens.

    Playing a quick game does not seem to help.

    May be Window guys can explain this.

    My highest on advanced is 1093, Windows 7 verison

    Also, another author stated that it is always possible to win. This is simply not true (on advanced). It is possible to be dealt a hand that can not progress, and it happened to me once.

    Here is a theoretical no win. There are 10 columns and 8 decks of cards, so 8 kings. If on the very last hand you are dealt 8 kings, all in separate columns, and you are dealt two aces in the last two columns, that do not land on a two of the same suite, then irrespective of anything you have done in the game, you can not progress, there are no possible moves and is the last hand.  This is a very similar scenario that happened to me

    It is however possible to win almost every game on advanced, but it can take hours to win the difficult ones.
