Nokia E51

I expect that it is not quite what you want, but the device status application from Nokia tells you on the front page whether the phone is roaming.

Hello All,

I had recently brought an E51 mobile phone and it's really a great phone after playing for days.

But there is one problem which I encountered while ROAMING with it. That is, there is no any icon "R" or indication of "Roaming" in the root menu screen. It is quite inconvenient for me cause I cross the boarder a lot and I have two SIM cards, one in my own country while the other is for aboard. Sometimes, I forget and cannot judge which of the cards I am using.

I don't know if anybody else have the same problem or will Nokia try to fix this issue for me courtesly?

You're a star! Thanks for the info, that's just what I was looking for :)

open the browser. go to "settings" , then click "General". In the "access point" choose "always ask".

That way it will always ask you the access point and u can be sure of which connection you are using.

Other ways are:

a) when u are connected through gprs or edge it will show G or E on the top left corner.

b) menu-->connectivity--->connection manager. it will show you what active connections.

Hi, Just got my E51 (loving it!!).

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to check that during a internet session where I've specified my WLAN as the Access Point, that I'm DEFINITELY connected to my WLAN rather than my operator's mobile connection?
