Hi,

You can't make folders on the desktop that have "System Action" or "Device"  references such

as con, nul and prn. Solution is to use another name or use 0 instead of o,O for C0n.

Here are others :

CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9,

LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, LPT9

Can you create “con” folder on windows os ?

Hope this helps.

No no no! Just don't do so!!

It's very important not to do it!

I wouldn’t says it’s important to not do it, and your tone is unnecessarily alarmist. At worst, it makes the folder and its contents slightly more difficult to access (okay, at worst it can lead to losing the files, but that’s really extreme and only likely if the folder is on a removable media that someone connects to an old system that deletes them or something).

That said, it is much easier and safer to just use another name; pull out the thesaurus and find a synonym.

    Assalam-o-Alaikum

You can create folder with name = Con .. Just press alt+255 then write folder name it will be created .lolz

    Just use ALT+NUM255 + "con" + ALT+NUM255

That’s even worse than Assalam’s answer; yours is not only still wrong, but adds two spaces to the name (or ÿ’s or whatever glyph is at codepoint 0x255 in the active codepage).

Nope, that is not the same thing. That might look like con, but it is not. It has a blank space before the name, and that is only if you are using certain codepages; with some codepages it will be named ÿcon or something else.
